ROLE DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a Business Analyst with a focus on the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) for our R&D ClearSkies team. This role is crucial for bridging the gap between business stakeholders and the software development team, ensuring project success by creating detailed technical documents, including functional specifications and design documents. You will be instrumental in translating complex business needs into clear, actionable technical requirements and ensuring these are effectively communicated to and understood by the development team. A deep understanding of both business processes and the technical aspects of software development is essential.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

SDLC Involvement:

  • Participate in all phases of the software development life cycle, ensuring that business requirements are accurately translated into technical specifications and vice versa.
  • Work closely with the software development team to provide clarifications on business requirements and ensure technical solutions meet business needs.

 

Requirements Gathering:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand and document detailed business requirements for software development projects.
  • Translate these requirements into functional specifications for the development team, ensuring alignment with business objectives.

 

Analysis and Documentation:

  • Conduct a comprehensive analysis of existing systems, identifying opportunities for enhancement.
  • Create detailed technical documentation, including system design documents, functional specifications, and UML diagrams, ensuring they accurately reflect business requirements.

 

UI/UX Design Contribution:

  • Utilize UI/UX design tools to assist in developing prototypes, wireframes, and mockups.
  • Ensure that interface designs align with both user needs and business goals.

 

Validation and Testing:

  • Engage in validation and testing activities, particularly focusing on ensuring that business requirements are accurately implemented in the software.
  • Participate in QA and UAT, validating and testing bug fixes and new features from a business perspective.

 

Communication and Liaison:

  • Serve as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and the development team.
  • Facilitate effective communication to ensure mutual understanding and alignment between business needs and technical solutions.

 

Market Research and Competitive Analysis:

  • Maintain a deep understanding of industry trends and competitor activities, focusing on how these insights can be integrated within the SDLC to create competitive and innovative software solutions.
KNOWLEGDE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
  • Strong skills in translating business requirements into technical specifications and vice versa.
  • Proficient in participating and contributing to all stages of the software development life cycle.
  • Experienced in UI/UX design, with a focus on aligning interface designs with business requirements.
  • Experience with entity relations and UML diagram creation, particularly in the context of software development projects.
  • Deep understanding of software development processes, preferably in an Agile environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Technology, or a related field, with a strong emphasis on the intersection of business and technology.
  • Proven experience as a Business Analyst, specifically in a software development context.
