IthacaLabs has maintained the Threat Level (High) adding a new observation:

An attack is highly likely. Addressing the broad nature of the threat in order to reach an acceptable risk level, requires additional and sustainable protective security measures combined with specific business and geographical vulnerabilities and judgments.

Description

We have observed an elevated risk of distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) activity that could target organizations in Cyprus, particularly those operating public-facing services and critical digital platforms.

DDoS attacks are designed to overwhelm websites, applications, or network infrastructure with excessive traffic, causing service degradation or complete unavailability. Given previous DDoS activity affecting Cyprus government and critical infrastructure, organizations should remain vigilant and review their readiness against similar availability-focused attacks.

• Conduct resilience testing and tabletop exercises where appropriate
