As a Junior Security Engineer, you will support the delivery, operation, and continuous improvement of cybersecurity services across customer environments. You will assist with the deployment, administration, monitoring, and support of security technologies, working closely with internal teams, vendors, and customers to help ensure solutions are reliable, properly maintained, and aligned with operational and security requirements. This role offers valuable hands-on experience and exposure to key cybersecurity domains, including firewalling, endpoint security, vulnerability and patch management, network segmentation, and other security technologies used in customer environments.
The position reports to the Team Leader of Solutions (CY) and requires a professional with an ability to work in a dynamic environment as part of a team of highly focused engineers.
- Assist with the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of cybersecurity solutions.
- Support the administration of security technologies such as firewalls, endpoint security, email security, patch management, and related platforms.
- Help troubleshoot technical issues related to security systems, connectivity, access, and policies.
- Respond to customer requests, alerts, and support cases with guidance from senior team members.
- Perform basic health checks, updates, configuration reviews, and preventive maintenance activities.
- Collaborate with internal teams to support reliable and secure service delivery.
- Learn new cybersecurity technologies and follow internal procedures and vendor best practices.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field
- Master’s degree in an IT related field will be considered an advantage
- Basing understanding of networking fundamentals and security controls
- Good problem-solving skills and willingness to investigate technical issues.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills, with the ability to convey technical topics clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Nice to Have
The following will be considered an advantage, but are not mandatory:
- Internship, academic project, or previous experience in IT, networking, systems administration, helpdesk, technical support, or cybersecurity.
- Basic understanding of troubleshooting network, connectivity, access, or security-related issues.
- Basic experience with troubleshooting network or security issues.
- Familiarity with Windows, Linux, Microsoft 365, or basic server/network administration.
The following certifications will be considered an advantage:
- CompTIA Security+
- CompTIA Network+
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) – Networking fundamentals
- Any other technical certifications will be considered as an advantage
